An alloy steel flange is a forged or machined component used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment in a piping system. Unlike regular carbon steel flanges, alloy steel flanges contain added elements like chromium, molybdenum, nickel, and vanadium, which enhance their strength, corrosion resistance, and performance at high temperatures and pressures.
Types of Alloy Steel Flanges
Weld Neck Flange (WN): Strongest type, used for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
Slip-On Flange (SO): Easy to install, commonly used in low-pressure systems.
Blind Flange (BL): Used to close pipe ends or pressure vessel openings.
Socket Weld Flange (SW): Ideal for small bore, high-pressure piping.
Threaded Flange (TH): Used where welding is not possible.
Common Grades
ASTM A182 F5
ASTM A182 F9
ASTM A182 F11
ASTM A182 F22
